Swiis Foster Care – Children’s Guide App
The creation of an app for the children of Swiis Foster Care, utilising Visual Studio Code to develop and code the app, and Xano as the backend for data storage.
I created the workflow of the app using a physical children’s guide document that the children would normally fill out by hand as a guide. All the elements in the guide, including areas for information input, were included in the example.
I was planning to use Xano for data storage and backend development. I had set up all the relevant API requests for a login feature with authentication tokens, data input and data retrieval features. This way, children could securely fill out information on the app and then could access it at a later date. Everything was tested and was successful.

Update InDesign
I created the update InDesign application to make updating InDesign more efficient as we needed to translate documents into other languages. This application translated into a chosen language and replaced all the text through the dcument. It can also find specific words and replace them, which I used in the case of when a team name changed or certain fostering language was updated.
Content Library - Competitor Analysis
As we would do competitor analysis on a regular basis, I decided to create a content library application where a script would scrape content from competitor Facebook pages and websites, then organise them all in one place, where a user can look through them and go to the specific competitor pages by clicking on the content
Flipbook Viewer
I created a flipbook viewer because there were paid options online, but since it was easy enough to produce, I decided to save costs and build it myself. In the future, I would like to build on it further, enabling the feature to send a link to another user who can open the page with a preloaded document.
